How To Make Your Own Perfumes And Fragrances At Home

The economy has made things difficult for everyone and people find the cost of perfume too much right now. There is one option that most people don’t even think about and the solution can be to make your own perfume. Perfume is a lot easier than you might think to make at home and imagine what your friends will think if you give them home made perfume as a gift.
The ingredients are readily available in most areas and you can prepare the ingredients using normal kitchen equipment. You don’t need to be a scientist to produce perfume and nor do you need a special laboratory.
The first thing to do is to decide on the type of perfume you want to make and then get all the ingredients together. The perfume you make yourself will be largely made up of water, essential oils and pure grain alcohol or you can simply use vodka. These will be the basic ingredients that are mostly used but you can add further scents if you feel the need. The different types of perfumes we are all familiar with are cologne, Eau De Cologne and Eau de Toilette. It is a little more involved to make a proper perfume because they are made with blends of animal and vegetable oils.
The way they are chemically composed decides what the results will be like but they will all behave slightly differently. Most of these inexpensive items will be available at a local store near you. We can start making perfume once we have assembled our ingredients and decided on the equipment we will use for the process.
The essential oils are the most important ingredient you will need in your perfume as this will decide how fragrant it is. You get different results with each one as the chemical make up of them all is quite different. Knowing about the base note, the middle, top and bridge notes will help as these are all terms used to describe the perfume.
You can find books and other information about making perfume at home on the Internet and you can buy kits that come complete with an instructional manual. Purchasing kits like these is not something you have to do every time you make perfume and they only cost between $30 and $60 usually.
